How to make extra income in your spare time

Have you ever had nothing to do and thought to yourself “I wish I could be making more money” or I need to change jobs because my job just doesn’t pay enough to survive! Having a low paying job can be stressful but does that mean you have to look for a new job or ask for a raise? Nope! Although asking for a raise might help make you more money there are no guarantees you will be granted that raise. If you love your job you may not necessarily want to leave it so have you considered other ways you can make money in your free time? There are options that you could consider so that you could live more comfortably and afford nicer things if you are financially struggling!

Complete surveys- Everybody has an opinion these days, and now you can literally earn money from giving your opinion. Have you ever wondered where statistics come from? Survey sites pay people for their opinion and sell the statistics for brands to show off to their consumers. You’re not going to become a millionaire overnight but if you need a little extra cash it can definitely be an option!

Start a blog- Blogging is one of the most popular hobbies in the world and that is because it gives you the ability to connect with other like-minded people, have your voice heard and if you’re lucky make a little of extra side income from it.  Making an income from a blog is not easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication but if you are interested in turning your blog into an investment check out  how to start a successful blog so that you can learn the right steps that you need to take in in order make that happen.

Take pictures

Finding decent photos for your blog can sometimes be more difficult than writing the blog post itself and sometimes bloggers just don’t want to deal with the aggravation of it so they will pay a high price for their photos. If you have an eye for photography selling your work may be a good way to make some extra money because you would be surprised at the price people would pay for them.

Rent out a spare room

Do you have a spare room you’re not using? Rent it out! Renting out a spare room is an easy way to get a little extra income but always keep in mind unless you personally know your renter they could trash your place and you may end up having to kick them and paying for a bunch of renovations for all the damage your renters have caused. All renters will not trash your place but unless you know the renter personally you will not know how well they care for their stuff so keep an open mind.

Sell your skills

Finally, one of the greatest ways of making money in your spare time is by selling the skills you’ve already got. People are forever looking for freelancers to outsource and complete tasks for them. So, if you’ve got a keen eye for proofreading, for example, sell those skills on sites such as Upwork for a fantastic way to make extra money!

The holidays are the most stressful time of year especially if you are unemployed! People tend to get stressed out during this time of year because we are so focused on how much stuff we are getting and we forget the reason we get together! Remember to be grateful for what you have and don’t be greedy for what you don’t because that is not what family get together’s are all about!  Making an extra income during this stressful time of year may help make this time a little less stressful but always remember that it’s not about the stuff but about who you spend it with!
