When I started this blog I was not confident in my writing so I was pretty sure no one was going to read it with the exception of maybe a few friends and family. At first, I was not even going to share it with my friends and family because I was not sure how they would feel about it or if they were even going to like it and, I didn’t want anyone to feel obligated to read it because they didn’t want to hurt my feelings. I have never been so proud to say I was wrong and in celebration of this milestone I did a little q and a so you can learn a little bit more about me!
Why did I start blogging?- I have never pictured myself as a blogger but more of a Youtuber but once I heard my friend Karly had a blog I figured I’d give it go because if it worked out it would be something fun we could do together! In the beginning, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work out because it was a very emotional process and I was very stressed out but thankfully I did not let my emotions control me because quitting would have been my biggest regret.
What’s my biggest fear?- When it comes to blogging my biggest fear was failure! I have tried many other career paths and they have all failed. My biggest fear was that my blog would also fail and that was part of the reason I didn’t tell anyone about my blog for quite some time. Luckily I had Karly encouraging me which pushed me to share it with friends and family!
How did I choose my niche?- Since I am disabled disability is a huge part of my life so I knew I wanted to focus on that but that is not all I wanted to focus on. There are so many different topics that I am interested in so limiting it to just disability would cause me to get bored and question why I started a blog. You can pretty much make any niche work so bloggers write what you are interested in not what you think you should write about.
Do I ever want to quit blogging? What do I do?– Yep, all the time and to be honest this probably happens to every blogger! The people who are most critical of their posts are the people who write them so what do I do when I second-guess my content? Sometimes I may make tweaks to old posts if I really don’t like them but for the most part, I try to remind myself that you can’t make every post perfect and it’s probably not as bad as I am telling myself it is.
What is my favorite thing about blogging?- There are so many things I love about blogging but the things that stick out the most is I love creating new content and interacting with other bloggers. I have learned so much from other bloggers so I am always interested in hearing other bloggers opinions and thoughts to not only help each other out by also make my blog better.
What is my favorite color?- Pink! When I was little I would conveniently have the same favorite color as my older sister and it didn’t matter what she changed it to mine was exactly the same because I looked up to her and was too young to understand that having a difference of opinion is okay. My family soon caught on and luckily I did grow out of that so I don’t know what my older sisters’ favorite color is but mine will always be pink!
What music do I listen to?- I listen to all different kinds of music so it would be difficult to tell you exactly what genre of music I listen to because I listen to many different kinds. Basically, I listen to whatever I am in the mood for!
What foods are my biggest weakness?-I can live without ever eating cake, pie or chocolate again but if you take away my bread and peanut butter then when are going to have some problems!
If I could do any career what would it be?- My dream job would be to be a teacher but since my learning disability makes it difficult to get a college degree I will never be able to do that. I may never have a teaching degree but since I am able to teach people through my blog that is good enough for me!
If you are thinking of starting a blog but are waiting for the right moment I am here to tell you it doesn’t exist. You will never launch your blog as long as you continue to make excuses as to why it’s not the right time so just do it! What do you have to lose? The worst that will happen is that your blog is a total flop and no one reads it but you will never know that until you launch. You can do great things with your blog and open doors to many opportunities that you would not have had if you weren’t a blogger but if you continue to let fear stand in your way you will never be given these opportunities. I want to give a big shout to everyone who has been following me since day one your support means the world to me! If you have any me questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below or message me on Facebook or Twitter and I would be happy to answer your questions.
